Still alive

Been much too busy with professional deadlines the past month and haven't seen my usual quota of rugby. I did, however, watch the Heineken Cup semi-final match between Saracens and Munster yesterday, and thought Saracens were going to steal it at the end, when they were down by two points, advancing at the goalline for a try, with Glen Jackson slotted back for a droppie as an insurance policy. But they blew it, and Munster held on by the skin of their teeth, prevailing 18-16 and will face Toulouse in the final at Cardiff's Millenium Stadium in a month. Check Rugby Planet for all the details on that.

I also watched some of the past weekends' Super 14 highlight clips at youtube, and was particularly impressed with Sione Lauaki's 60-metre intercept try in the Chiefs 32-20 win over the Reds. Watch the big man scamper over half the length of the field, get tackled, re-gather himself and the ball, and keep his powerful thighs pumping to spike the touchdown. The intercept starts at the 1:38 mark.
