Monday Morning $0.02

August 7, 2006

The Wallaby-Springbok test last Saturday was played at Sydney's Telstra Stadium was played in front of 25,000 empty seats.

It's possible the earlier 49-point thrashing mean Aussie fans weren't going to crash the gates for the follow-up. It's possible the fans -- like the Wallabies themselves -- simply did not respect their opposition.

But these empty seats are a strong indicator than fans believe the extended Tri-Nations format is too much of a good thing.

As the Boks return home from their "Tour From Hell," SANZAR nees to read the message and either share these tests with smaller stadia or different cities, or claw back the fixtures to the original single home-and-away format.

Do it now, before Nobody Waves Goodbye.
