Origins of the Game

December 12, 2005

All this week Rugby Planet has been running a great series of articles about the history and origins of Rugby Union. Wednesday's article was a great feature about the history of scoring in the game -- and goes into detail about how games were won, and how the try found it's way to being awarded 5-points. The are other articles about the history of positions and the history of rugby jargon, like "try" and "deadball line." There's more features to come, keep your eye on it.

Update... re: the return of Jonah Lomu bulletin below, Lomu has now played a pair of games, reports are saying he's doing o-kay if-not-gangbusters, but he is being sat this weekend. Most recent update is that Olympic track champions Linford Christie and Darren Campbell are assisting Jonah in his bid to return to glory.

Have a good Christmas, will be back before New year for a end-o-year wrap.
